Word of his penance spread. Devotees flocked to Palani, building a temple where Kartikeya, now called Lord Murugan, sat as a timeless symbol of spiritual awakening. To this day, pilgrims climb Palani’s 689 steps, carrying offerings to honor his journey from warrior to wise sage.
